Last week of February

Holidays are over and back to school it is!

In the holidays I didn't manage to do much I had to cover quite a lot for work and then ended up going down south.

Anyway, fresh start back and straight into a literature assessment! I don't know how I did, didn't really feel that I had enough preparation at all. Analyzing sentences doesn't seem to be my forte.

åWe shall see, we now have Heart of Darkness to start to read for next week, which looks interesting. During the assessment I did come out with knowing what and inversive sentence is so that os one thing I won't forget.

In French I have finally started and finished my powerpoint presentation about women's rights in France. I have to do that on Tuesday. We have also arranged dates for all of the following assessments with Anna. In the class on Tuesday we covered francophone and the political relations France has with Africa, I found the text challenging and real interesting I felt that I came out having learnt a lot.

Wednesday, Spanish revising the past tense also deciding whether to do the advanced higher or not... A lot more work... The only advantage of doing this extra work is the progress I will make if I do it. I'm still not sure.

I really need to do some research on the subjunctive to understand it better. I find it confusing no matter how many times Jordi desperately tries to explain it to me! I don't even understand it in French or English let alone in Spanish! I have been revising the past so now this week I shall attempt to do the same for the subjunctive.

Tomorrow we have Scott and I have finished the assessment we were doing a couple of weeks ago when he was off sick. We were assessing presentation skills, we have to give a presentation fairly soon and I guess we are advised to follow some of these guidelines.

Scary thought, but again I’m sure once you get the hang of them it will be fine. Practice makes perfect!

History we have started Europe, interesting we haven’t really gone into any depth yet.

I’m still wondering about my history project which topic to do but most of all what historical question to ask. I would like to do it on the civil war in El Salvador and finding resources seems ok. I have already ordered two books form Amazon as well as two from the library. It’s a topic which really interests me as I was in some way very much part of it,this is why I would like to discover more and work on it.

Lat two weeks update

.Last week’s update, in dieca's class we practised presentation skills. I was able to practice my Spanish presentation skills. It's not as easy as it looks. The practise run really helped because on the same day I had my Spanish presentation exam. A bit nerve racking but ok passed the test and fulfilled the requirements.
I would like to practise some more presentations, as I mentioned to Dieca the more you do the better you get. Tuesday in Literature we worked on a skills sheet and analysing the poem we are currently working on. The class didn't really get going until the very last half hour; this was due to the class room changes and bad weather conditions. We have a theatre scene to look at for next week.
Wednesday and Thursday I was away at a language conference in Paris which was very interesting. I have finished Scott's assessment and sent it to him via email.
Friday, it was the history assessment. Hard and slightly pushed for time, even though I did revise I found it quite challenging and I'm not too sure I did ok.
We shall see next week.

At the moment currently I am preparing my Spanish oral exam and I'm going to choose the three subjects I will be assessed on. I am also working little by little on the history project we have coming up soon.
The holidays are coming up soon and I wish to use the time preparing for future exams.
